| Cherry Syrup |

- 1 tbsp. cornstarch
- 1/4 c. plus 1 tbsp. water, divided
- 2 c. pitted cherries, fresh or frozen (thawed)
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. almond extract
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
Instructions
- Mix cornstarch and 1 tablespoon water.
- Combine cherries, sugar and 1/4 cup water in saucepan. Bring to boil over medium heat, stirring constantly.
- Gradually stir in dissolved cornstarch. Continue to cook, stirring, until syrup becomes thickened and clear.
- Stir in almond extract and cinnamon. Serve over pancakes,
- French toast, waffles, or ice cream. Makes 1 1/2 cups.
